Mainstay Atlanta artist Terry Milla (formerly Mr.E / Longshott) drops the first single off his new project A Prince In Peasant's Clothes, combining a dope piano laced beat with a smooth hook by singer Flossy Mae.
Terry boasts a vast resume of touring internationally, providing music for multiple TV shows like HBO's 'True Blood', radio shows like HOT 97's 'Star & Buckwild', movies and video games alike. While staying true to his roots of socially conscious rap, his music has had international commercial appeal, and he has toured with the And-1 Basketball team and on his own across the U.S. and the world.
In his words, “We live in a different world now. With the internet and sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Itunes, the fans have direct access to the artists. It’s a global market that we can run locally. Even the major record labels have to integrate technology and internet marketing into their business model to survive”.

Hartford, CT mainstay Marvalyss is back with his third full-length LP. Following up on last year's Marvis Luther King, Marv once again combines his dope lyricism with deep subject matter.
From the intro skit to the final track "Just Us" (ft. Skyraven The Poet), the project feels like a cohesive story - partly because Sly And The Street Beat produced every soulful beat on it. And it's not just about Marv's life experiences, but a bigger worldview that challenges the listener to examine their own perception of the world.
Notable tracks include "Let Me Know" ft. Profit, the boom-bap head-nodder "At Night", "Devil's Playground" and the profound album opener "Desire".
Some might call this conscious rap, but Marvalyss doesn't fit that mold, or any other mold for that matter. He's been able to create a lane all his own and the title is perfect - this album has depth.

The versatile CT-born-and-raised emcee/singer/songwriter KLOKWIZE is back after spending two years in Los Angeles recording and perfecting his new album Permission To Land. And even before that, he has received much critical acclaim - on the internet, radio and on national TV, from MTV to ESPN.
This new album is a culmination of Klok's evolution as an artist, from a more traditional lyricist in the 2000's, to more recently, performing and recording more melodic tracks with a live band.
And this album is simultaneously both and neither of those, proving he's the King of Moving On.
Klok has successfully done what few rappers can do: perfected the subtle art of emceeing, singing, and harmonizing over a variety of beats. And as versatile an artist as he is, Klok has kept two things consistent on Permission To Land: It stays funky and his bars never disappoint.
P.T.L. is a genuinely fun (and funky) album to listen to, with head-nodders laced with break beats and guitar riffs, with some me

NY-based activist emcee and Friend of the Sesh AWKWORD is back with a new track honoring Heather Heyer, who was tragically killed while protesting the white supremacist march in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 12th, 2017.
AWK has always defined himself as an artist who brings people together, both through his global projects like Worldview, and by confronting the systemic racism that divides our fellow citizens here in the US.
On this new track, produced by Teck-Zilla, and featuring DJ Wayne Ski, AWK not only honors Heather but addresses the fears many of us have living in a country where Nazis', openly racist white supremacists, and their apologists' views have become normal in mainstream political discourse, thanks to a certain crazy old orange man who somehow became president.
Stream the new track below and download it here, for a donation (All proceeds go to The Heather Heyer Foundation, founded by her mother to fund future social justice activists).
